Lexington, KY – Due to the overwhelming number of horses entered to participate in the Kentucky Proud Series for the Western Kentucky State Fair that is to be held at Oak Grove on June 18, the following will be the guidelines for all horses competing on that day.
All horses that are entered to race in the NON-WAGERING events that will start at 8:00 a.m. will be allowed access to the paddock and their stalls NO SOONER then 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday (June 17). All NON-WAGERING horses will be REQUIRED to leave the grounds after their respected race NO LATER than noon. NO HORSES WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE THE SHIP IN BARN.
The Paddock will be closed from noon to 1:00 p.m. for cleaning and will open to all Afternoon Wagering Event Horses at 1:00 p.m., with a scheduled post time of 2:30 p.m. Races 16 – 17 on the wagering card will be assigned stalls in the SHIP – IN BARN but will not have access until 1:00 .
Under NO circumstances will any horse be permitted that races on Monday or Tuesday to stay at Oak Grove after completion of the card on Tuesday. Once again NO HORSES WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE THE SHIP IN BARN and any horse or trainer found to be in violation may be subject to fine. KHRGC and Oak Grove staff are committed to providing a safe environment for all participating horses and would appreciate your cooperation to provide every competing horse a safe stall in a timely manner.
