Windsor, ME — Kevin Switzer, Jr wowed them at the Windsor Fair on Saturday (August 31) scoring five wins over the course of the 12-race program while vaulting over multiple drivers to claim the current top spot on the Windsor Fair leaderboard.
The Switzer sizzle was felt early and often on Saturday with wins bookending the entire program, from the first call to post until the final bugle had sounded.

His epic day began when Fly Away BB (1:56.3-$16) took a new lifetime mark in the opener when Switzer leveraged contested early fractions while rallying smartly for the score into a decelerating back-half, securing the 3rd career victory for the up-and-coming Jonathan Breshnahan trainee in the process.
Switzer’s second score came in a $19,841 Maine Sire Stakes split when Blizzard’s Fury (2:07.1-$19.00) successfully overcame an early loss of stride to track down the front-running Little Shot (Ivan Davies). They then withstood a determined late battle-charge from Lady Lake Marty (Kenneth Watson) to pin the second career win on the freshman daughter of Whataworkout-Miss Blizzard for trainer Marc Tardif.
Gate-to-wire gambits provided Switzer with his next two victory marches as the Maine-bred pacer, Three Times Six (1:57-$6), took a brand new lifetime mark for trainer James Smallwood, and then FG’s Mondu Packrat (1:54.3-$2.80) scored the fastest win of the day for trainer Timothy Hudson.
Switzer’s five-pack was completed in the finale when trainer Ralph D’Amelio’s Outspoken Man (1:56.4-$10.80) was able to overcome the second-tier starting spot to rally into his first win of the season.
Switzer now boasts nine wins over the first seven sessions of the Windsor Fair, one more than his closest competitors, Walter Case Jr and Aaron Hall who are knotted up in second place on the leaderboard. Joey Mosher also remains in hot pursuit for the Windsor driving championship with seven wins on the week.
Racing resumes at the Windsor Fair on Sunday (September 1) and Monday (Labor Day) with post time slated at 1:00 p.m.
