Kimelman and Sheridan win MADC events Friday at Big M

East Rutherford, NJ — With three races on the Meadowlands card Friday night (June 28), the MADC races were competitive and only one of the three races saw the chalk find the winner’s circle. With that being said it was the hottest driver on the amateur circuit, Yogi Sheridan, who acted like Yogi Berra, going yard twice for a driving double on the card.

In the first race, it was a mid-race brush and crush by the overwhelming favorite, Gazoo and Michael Kimelman, who romped by 12-3/4 lengths to victory in 1:51.4. Longshot Meet The Creeper and Bruno Chiodo came from last to get up for second while Sheridan aboard Dandy Idea rounded out the trifecta. Kimelman also trains the winner who he co-owns along with Scott Kimelman and Sheila Baird.

In the seventh race, it was Jive Ninety Five with Sheridan who sat the pocket and pounced on the leader late through a stretch duel battle that found him a neck winner over Fashion Cantab and Anthony Verruso. Longshot Pilsner Frosty and Paul Minore picked up the show dough. This trotting event’s final time was 1:57.4. Peter Pellegrino owns and trains the winning gelding.

In the ninth and final MADC race, it was a mid-race move and grind by Sheridan, driving Majorly Sexy A, who came from last and overcame his outside post to score in 1:53.1. He made up over three lengths in the stretch from seventh and passed all of his tiring rivals on the far outside, which to many viewers looked like he came out of the grandstand to reign victorious. The favorite, Warrawee Yankee and Mark Silva, once again came up short in second while Jim Strikesitrich, with Peter Kleinhans in the sulky, rounded out the trifecta. Sheridan co-owns the winner with Team Tritton Inc. while Shane Tritton does the training.

The MADC races will be back next week. The first post Friday is scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
