Hastings, MI – On Wednesday’s (Oct 8) program at Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center, King Putt (Jk Endofanera – Pv Miracle Mary) lowered the track record for three-year-old gelding pacers.

Off the car, Art McIlmurray sent his charge, Absolutely Real, to the lead past the quarter in :29.3 until King Putt and Joe Casagranda took over headed to the half. The duo then set sail to a half in :59.3, three-quarters in 1:29.3 before blasting off to an eight and a quarter-length final win margin and stopped the clock in 1:57.4, establishing the new record. Joe Casagranda, who hails from Hastings, Michigan, owns, trains, drove and bred the first race winner and latest track record setter.
Driver David Lake led all drivers on the afternoon with three wins. Trainer Cheryl Whitsell had a training double on the day as well.
Racing resumes Tuesday (Oct 14) and Wednesday (Oct 15), which will close out the 2025 race meet in Hastings, MI at Northville Downs with a first race post time of 1 p.m. ET each day.
