Vernon, NY – Kinnder Hotblood (Jimmy Whittemore) captured the $7,500 featured trot at Vernon Downs on Friday (July 11).

Discus Hanover (Leon Bailey) was first to the quarter in :27.0. He used a :29.3 second quarter and led to the half in :56.3. Kinnder Hotblood ($5.00) came first-up to challenge heading to the final turn but decided to tuck in the two-hole as Discus Hanover reached three-quarters first in 1:25.1.
As they reached the stretch Kinnder Hotblood pounced out of the pocket and went on by to win easily in 1:55.1. Dryden Hanover (Brad Irvine) came up to finish second. Lous Lancelot (John MacDonald) was third.
Kinnder Hotblood is a 4-year-old mare by Kadabra. He is owned by Janie Kellog and trained by Whittemore. It was her third win this season. She now has nine career victories.
Chris Long had a driving grand slam on the card. He won with Bell Of Lazarus, Heavens Count, On Speed N, and I’ll Be Myself.
