Dover, DE — Driver Vic Kirby, who won four races on Tuesday, made it five wins this time, including both $15,000 co-featured trots, with Can Do in 1:54.3 and Pounce Hanover in 1:56, at Dover Downs on Wednesday (March 5).

Not only did Kirby have a five-bagger, but he trained both feature race winners, as well as owned them with Chris Giaccio. Previously at Rosecroft Raceway, Kirby once won seven races on a card.

Can Do was one of five winners for Vic Kirby on Wednesday at Dover Downs.

The red-hot Kirby had to use Can Do twice early to get the lead and then held off a strong challenge from Awsome Valley (Tony Morgan) to score the Cantab Hall-Meadowbranch Queen gelding’s second win in three races, including finishing second by a head last week. Awsome Valley held on for second with Struttin Conway (Ron Pierce) the show horse. The win was Can Do’s second of the year, raising his seasonal earnings to $27,490.

Pounce Hanover rang up his third win of the year with two seconds in seven starts, winning a $15,000 4- and 5-year-old Winners Over Trot in 1:56. Mile Hill is also a co-owner of the Majestic Son-Playwood gelding. Kodak Lindy (Montrell Teague) came on to finish second in front of fast finishing Six Gun Hall (Allan Davis).

In addition, Jim Morand had a driving triple while Corey Callahan, owner-trainer Arty Foster and trainer Josh Green had two winners.
