East Rutherford, NJ — The New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority has named Peter Koch as Director of Racing/Race Secretary effective November 1, 2008, after Tad Stockman was named to a new role in racing administration.

Koch, the current racing secretary at Freehold Raceway, will oversee the harness racing program at the Meadowlands.

Koch graduated from the University of Arizona’s Racetrack Industry Program and worked in the race offices of Buffalo Raceway and Batavia Downs during the early part of his career. He previously served as the presiding judge at Freehold Raceway and The Meadowlands and was assistant racing secretary for the Grand Circuit meet at the Delaware County Fair.

Koch served as president of the American Harness Racing Secretaries Association from 2006-2007.
