Vincennes, FR — It was “ladies first” in the Group 1 race Prix Bold Eagle at Vincennes on Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon.
And for the president of the French trotting federation, Le Trot, the race was a great personal triumph as he owns the first two horses across the finish line – the French mare Kokote and the Italian mare East Asia – both of whom have Ready Cash as their sire.
Kokote, with his trainer Matthieu Mottier in the sulky, won just ahead of East Asia with Björn Goop, who delivered a strong finish from a place in the back field. In third place was another Italian horse, Executiv Ek with Alessandro Gocciadoro – he is by Face Time Bourbon (Ready Cash).
Two of the afternoon’s other Group races were won by Face Time Bourbon offspring – both Italian – and owned and bred by Scuderia Bivans, trained by Sebastian Guarato and with Matthieu Abrivard in the bike.backfield
The Prix Ourasi, Group 1 race for 4-year-olds was won by Frank Gio, while the Group II race, Prix Albert Viel for 3-year-old stallions was won by Golden Gio.
The mare race, Prix Roquepine – Group II – also had a Guarato-trained horse as the winner.
It was Magic America (Love You) with Eric Raffin in the sulky.
