Lee, Faraldo victorious in Monticello NAADA splits

Monticello, NY — Joe Lee persisted through a first-over push and Joe Faraldo powered off a pocket ride to take their respective $7,500 divisions for the North American Amateur Driving Association Trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 11).

In the first division, Lee landed in fourth with Jumpshot as Brutal Storm (Andrew Adamczyk) swooped from post seven for the lead through a :30 first quarter. Odds-on favorite Win And Dream (Alan Schwartz) then came rolling for the front and cleared command to a 1:00.2 half.

As the iron cooled, Lee moved Jumpshot off the pegs and began his march through the turn and into the backside the final time. Jumpshot loomed to within a length of Win And Dream at three-quarters in 1:31 and continued pestering the leader through the final turn.

Win And Dream eventually folded to pressure in the lane and Jumpshot spurted by and on to a 1-1/4 length win in 2:01.4. Blogmaster (Matt Zuccarello) zipped up the inside for second with Win And Dream settling for third.

McKenzie Sowers trains Jumpshot, a 7-year-old gelding by E L Titan, for owner Room4040 LLC Stables. He paid $9.90 to win.

Faraldo fired By A Hoff Hanover from the outermost post in the second division and secured the pocket behind 2-1 favorite Fair Glider (Robert Ciavardini) as the field rolled to a :29 first quarter. Fair Glider coasted to a :59 half while By A Hoff Hanover started swelling towards the backstretch.

Faraldo sent By A Hoff Hanover to attack Fair Glider by three-quarters in 1:29 and stayed alongside all through the final turn. Upon straightening, By A Hoff Hanover surged past and clear to a 1-1/4 length win with Jekyll N Hyde (Lee) coming up the inside for second. Fair Glider settled for third.

Mark Ford trains By A Hoff Hanover, a 5-year-old gelding by Donato Hanover, for owners George and Rose Bonomo. He paid $16.80 to win.

NAADA action shifts to Yonkers Raceway next Thursday (Oct. 19) for the ninth preliminary of the Fall Trotting Series, which features 10 preliminaries total before culminating in a final on Thursday (Nov. 2). First-race post time at Yonkers is 7 p.m. (EDT).
