Hamburg, NY — Legal Jeopardy ($22.40) made it two consecutive victories on Wednesday afternoon (April 9) at Buffalo Raceway by streaking down the stretch to take a three-quarter-length, 1:58.3 win over American Jazz in the featured $11,000 pace for fillies and mares.
It was a great day for the tandem of trainer Maria Rice and ownership partner Jack Rice as they enjoyed Legal Jeopardy taking the feature while two of their other charges, Arco N ($4.80) and Whats The Point ($14.60), also found the winner’s circle. Driver David McNeight III guided the trio to all the victories.
There was plenty of early action on the front end as Mary Kat (Kyle Cummings) took the early advantage with Big Bad Mosa settling into the pocket. After splits of :29.2 and :59, things heated up down the backstretch the final time.
Bettor B Sawyer advanced first-up and took over after hitting the three-quarter marker in 1:28.4. But Big Bad Mosa (Kevin Cummings) was in high gear and showed the way hitting the top of the stretch. Legal Jeopardy, who was fourth turning for home, roared on the outside and was able to drive past American Jazz (Drew Monti) thanks to a :29.2 last marker. Big Bad Mosa (Kevin Cummings) held on for third.

Legal Jeopardy has hit the board in all seven of her 2025 appearances, notching three victories along the way. The 5-year-old Stay Hungry-Legal Wish mare has produced $25,435 in earnings this year and $116,181 lifetime.
Racing will continue on Friday afternoon (April 11) with a nine-race program set. There’s a $1,490 carryover in the Pick-5, which begins in the second race.
