Legendary French broodmare to be covered by Tactical Landing

The 19-year-old Reethi Rah Jet — the dam of Bold Eagle, the richest French trotter ever — has recently foaled by the French stallion Express Jet and her owner, the Hunter Valley Stud, has chosen Tactical Landing as her next partner.

Not only by choice, but as the mare was in danger after she foaled, Hunter Valley wanted to make an embryo transfer with her. However, that is not allowed in France before two years after the last foal from the mare.

Instead, Hunter Valley has now exported Reethi Rah Jet to Sweden, and the embryo foal by Tactical Landing will be registered in the Swedish stud book. In 2025 the plan is to make an embryo foal from Reethi Rah Jet by Walner.

The French stud book is closed for foreign trotters.

Björn Goop 8,000 victories

The 47-year-old Swede, Björn Goop, posted victory number 8,000 last Sunday at Bjerke, driving Betting Pacer, a 5-year-old mare that he trains.

Goop, who is the winningest Swedish driver ever, won his first race in 1994.

Hooker Berry a winner again

Not since he won the 2023 Prix d’Amerique has the French trotter Hooker Berry been first past the post.

Now he won the Prix Chambon P, raced over 1-3/4 miles at Vincennes, and did it in a world record of 1:54.3 (mile rate).

The old record was 1:55 (mile rate) and held by another former winner of the Prix d’Amerique — Up and Quick.

Nicolas Bazire was in the bike and Franck Blandin trains Hooker Berry.
