Columbus, OH – Due to the influx of List of Mares Breds being submitted, the USTA wants to remind stallion owners that both first and last breeding dates are required when submitting the form, even if the mare was only bred one time during the breeding season.

Breeding dates submitted this year calculate an estimated foaling timeframe for next year; when foal registrations are submitted with foaling dates outside of that estimated foaling timeframe, the registration could be held up until the breeding and/or foaling dates are verified.
There is still plenty of time to edit and submit a stallion’s List of Mares Bred – submissions sent via email, fax or done through USTA Online Services are due Sept, 1; those mailed in must be postmarked by Sept. 2 due to the Labor Day holiday. Submissions sent in by the dates listed will receive the on-time fee of $5 per mare. LOMB’s submitted after this date will be charged $25 per mare.
Stallion owners can submit a LOMB in various ways:
– via Online Services
– on a LOMB submission form, which can be mailed, emailed or faxed in to the USTA office
– an electronic file for automated entry; guidelines for file format are found here
Once LOMBs are recorded, stallion owners, authorized agents or lessees can release mating certificates electronically through their USTA MyAccount. If you request paper mating certificates, those will be mailed to the first listed owner or lessee starting at the end of October. Signed paper mating certificates must be mailed back to the USTA, either by the stallion owner or the mare owner; paper mating certificates cannot be emailed or faxed in.
