The prestigious French race for 4- and 5-year-olds, the Prix Marcel Laurent at Vincennes, was won easily Thursday afternoon (Nov. 6) by Liza Josselyn with Jean Michel Bazire in the sulky.
Looking at the winners’ list for the Prix Marcel Laurent, you’ll find some of the biggest names in French harness racing—Idao Tillard has won the race twice in a row, along with Face Time Bourbon, Ready Cash, Offshore Dream, and more.
Last year, Jushua Tree won with Jean Michel Bazire—and now it’s a contender for the 2026 Prix d’Amerique.
Bazire may have another strong card for the Prix d’Amerique in the elegant Liza Josselyn, whose pedigree screams Prix d’Amerique—both her sire, Ready Cash, and her dam, Belina Josselyn, have won the race.
Now Liza Josselyn is well on the way to establishing herself as one of the upcoming stars in French harness racing.
That’s clear after Thursday’s victory in the Prix Marcel Laurent, which was won in 1:52.3—a new track record for a 4-year-old mare at Vincennes over the 1-5/16-mile distance.
During the race, Liza Josselyn sat behind the leading Koctel Du Dain (sired by Boccador de Simm) with David Thomain, but she easily passed in the stretch to claim victory.
It was her 12th win in 20 starts, and she has now earned a total of €527,900 in prize money.
