London, ON — Canada’s premier yearling sale is takingplace this weekend in London, Ontario.
On October 14 & 15, 316 Standardbred yearlings will go through the salesring at the Western Fair District Metroland Agriplex in the 2017 London Selected YearlingSale, presented by Standardbred Canada and the Forest City Yearling Sale.This is the first year for the sale, which is a merger of the Forest CityYearling Sale and the Canadian Yearling Sale.
This event is free and open to the public and anyone who has never attended anauction sale for horses is welcome to attend.

This is a very exciting time for consignorsand buyers as it represents the end of one cycle for the breeders, and is wherehopes and dreams are launched as owners and trainers attempt to purchase thenext North America Cup or Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final champion,” said Dan Gall, President and CEO of Standardbred Canada.
In addition to the horse auction, there will be free educational workshops, anEquine Expo and a Win A Share in a Racehorse promotion.
On Friday, October 13, prospective buyers will be able to previewyearlings. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, there will be three 30-minuteworkshops prior to the start of the auction. Topics include: Ask The Experts,How To Read A Pedigree and Understanding Conformation.
Hours of operation for the sale are Friday & Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. The auction gets underway atnoon on Saturday and Sunday.
