Vernon, NY – Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) captured the $7,500 featured fillies & mares’ pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov. 7).

Third place finisher Quarrel and Elegant Woman A battled shoulder to shoulder in the stretch. Unusual Clarity ($65.46) came flying three-wide late to get the win in 1:55.0. Divine Art (Gerald Longo) finished second.
Little Instigator (Leon Bailey) was first to the quarter in :27.2. Elegant Woman A (John MacDonald) then took over and led to the half in :56.2. Quarrel (Chris Long) came first-up to challenge going around the final turn. Elegant Woman A was first to three quarters in 1:25.4.
Unusual Clarity is a 10-year-old mare by Betterthancheddar. She is owned by Nicholas Gibides and trained by Harp. It was her fifth win this season and her 44th career victory.
Leon Bailey, Dylan Huckabone-Miller, and Chris Long each had driving doubles. Fannie Saul-Beaulieu had a training double.
