Love Live Laugh wins Vernon feature

Vernon, NY — Love Live Laugh and Jimmy Whittemore won the featured $4,500 fillies and mares pace at Vernon Downs on Thursday (Aug. 2).

Love Live Laugh and a grinning Jimmy Whittemore struck the front late in Thursday’s featured distaff pace at Vernon Downs.
Dangerousprecedent (Claude Huckabone III) put up early fractions of :27.4, :56.3 and 1:25 before Love Live Laugh mounted her rally from fourth. Love Live Laugh went three-wide in the stretch and wrestled the lead away from Dangerousprecedent to win in 1:53. Heart Crusher came flying late to finish second, while Dangerousprecedent held for the third spot.
Love Live Laugh ($11.20), an 8-year-old mare by Hi Ho Silverheel’s, is owned by Diane Whittemore and trained by Jimmy Whittemore. It was her sixth win this season and the 33rd of her career. Whittemore, who leads all Vernon drivers with 63 wins so far this season, also drove Parkhill Horton ($6.00) to victory.
Jay Hochstetler and Leon Bailey both recorded driving doubles as well. Hochstetler’s wins came with Video Chic ($4.60) and Son Of Liberty ($7.90), while Bailey picked up victories with Ms Casey Mac ($16.60) and Southwind Vixen ($3.50).
There will be no live racing at Vernon Downs on Friday (Aug. 3). Live racing returns on Saturday (Aug. 4) with a 13-race card starting at 6:10 p.m.
