MADC in action Saturday at The Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — With just the MADC 2 added on Saturday night (May 18), this race featured everything from lead changes to an exciting stretch duel to the second longest shot on the board winning.

In the fourth race on the card, it was fast fractions on the front end that proved pivotal for the two back markers at the start, which ended up finishing one-two.  After a three and four wide move around the final turn, Whammer Jammer (James Slendorn) and Rock On Line (Anthony Verruso) dueled down the stretch, but Slendorn was able to hold on for a neck victory over his combatant in a fast 1:51.3.

Heza Real Diamond (Tony Beltrami) rounded out the trifecta.  This was Slendorn’s second consecutive night with a win in a MADC event.  He also owns this 5-year-old gelding and is trained by Kelvin Harrison.

The MADC races will be back next Friday night at the Big M with a first post scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
