Hamburg, NY – Major Megan ($4.16) pulled rank in Buffalo Raceway’s $12,000 pace for the fillies and mares on Wednesday afternoon (March 18) as she easily dismissed the troops by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:58.3 over the sloppy track. She stopped Just One Bite’s mild bid while Bee Okay A was third.
At the start, Major Megan (Drew Monti) had a slight tussle with Bee Okay A (David McNeight III) for early supremacy but took over command to the quarter pole in a snappy :28.3. With splits of :58.2 and 1:28.2 registered, it appeared the first over Maidsweet IR was going to be troublesome with a quarter-mile to go but she quickly tossed in the towel.

Turning for home, Major Megan was still in command and calling the shots as Just One Bite (Brett MacDonald) made a belated move but had no serious response while Bee Okay A managed to hang on for the show spot.
Owned by the Summer Wind Stable of New York, the 6-year-old Major Megan (Betterthancheddar-Sgt Molly Pitcher) is trained by Ron Beback Jr. The victory was the first in seven attempts this season for Major Megan, now a winner of $13,100 on the campaign and $193,472 lifetime.
Monti and Kevin Cummings had a pair of victories on the program while trainer Angelo Nappo had three wins with Beback Jr. and David Russo getting two each.
Racing will return on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with a nine-race program slated.
