Hamburg, NY – Major Megan ($5.78) continued to hand out marching orders at Buffalo Raceway as she made it two straight victories with a hard-fought neck victory over Bolt Of Reality in a seasonal best of 1:57 in the $13,500 Open I-II Pace for the fillies and mares on Wednesday afternoon (March 25).
Showing who was in command in the early going, Major Megan jumped out to the lead with an opening panel of :28.4 over the fast track. With Bee Okay A and Rightfully Mine contently following along the pacesetter through a half of :58,2, things were about to get interesting.

Midway down the backstretch with Major Megan still the boss, Bolt Of Reality (Kevin Cummings) came a calling on the outside with the pair hitting the three-quarter marker in 1:28.0. The pair were on even terms down the stretch with Major Megan never wavering and hung on for the victory. Bolt Of Reality had to settle for the tough luck second place check while Face The Shadows (Drew Monti) took third.
Owned by the Summer Wind Stable of New York, Inc., the 6-year-old Major Megan (Betterthancheddar-Sgt Molly Pitcher) is trained by Ron Beback Jr. The win was the second in seven appearances on the season for Major Megan, now upping her 2026 bankroll to $19,850 and to $200,222 lifetime.
Monti showed the way on the day with a driving triple while Kyle Cummings and Kevin Cummings each collected doubles. Rachelle Mungillo had a pair of training wins.
Racing will return on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with another 10-race card scheduled.
