Bettors Heart N and driver Dexter Dunn raced first-up past the half. They could only offer mild pressure, at the three-quarters, to the pace setter Feeling Sweet. Race favorite, Majorca N and driver Corey Callahan sat dead last at the top of
the stretch, then erupted and swept past the field to win by a head in 1:51.4. She paid $2.80 for the win.
The margin of victory was not an indication of how dominant she was. Majorca N pronounced May-orca. Paced her last three-quarters in 1:23 and a last half in :54.2. The judges classified the racing surface as good. A one second weather variance was posted.
Majorca N (Art Major-Cloudy Beach-Tinted Cloud) is owned by Michael Casalino Jr of New Jersey and Dylan Davis of Delaware.
Dylan Davis trained and Corey Callahan drove. Feeling Sweet was second for trainer Joe Columbo. Mike Cole drove. Anneke was third for trainer Brenda Teague. Pat Berry drove. Corey Callahan drove five winners and Montrell Teague drove four winners on the betting card.
The $32,500 Preferred Handicap Pace features Let It Ride N, who is looking for his third consecutive win. The race is scheduled for the 12th race on a 15-race betting card on Thursday (March 24) night.
