Mandatory payout as Pompano offers huge wagering buffet for Wednesday

Pompano Beach, FL — Pompano Park will celebrate its final racing program of the year on Wednesday (Dec. 29) with a blockbuster 14-race program featuring the most lavish wagering buffet in its long history.

The festivities will begin with a Pick-5 covering races one through five, along with the traditional Early Daily Double (races one and two). The Pick-6 takes place with the start of race three, followed by the $15,000 guaranteed pool on the Pick-4 (races six through nine).

A second Pick-5 offering will begin on race eight with yet another Pick-4 with a $15,000 guaranteed pool beginning on race 11.

Both guaranteed Pick-4 pools have the lowest takeout in the industry at 12 percent.

A Late Pick-3 will begin on race 12 with the late daily double conducted on the final two races.

Finally, with a hefty $63,639 carryover in the Super Hi-5 going in, there will be an “early New Year’s Eve” celebration with a mandatory payout on that offering in race 14.

Director of Racing Gabe Prewitt said, “With that carryover, our Super Hi-5 pool could balloon to several hundred thousand dollars, as we have seen in past similar situations and since we are not racing on the actual New Year’s Eve this year, we thought it prudent to give all of our “Send It In” brigade members some fireworks of a different variety on our wagering buffet. It’s a great way to end 2021 and begin the New Year.”

Post time for the “Send It In” early New Year’s celebration is 7:20 p.m.
