Ocean Pines, MD – The yearling portion of the Harrisburg Sale kicks off Monday (Nov. 3), and the State of Maryland will be well represented.
A total of 64 yearlings cataloged for auction are currently paid into the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund. The Maryland Standardbred Fund continues to provide strong opportunities for eligible horses, distributing over $400,000 in purse money in 2025.
On the Maryland Sire Stakes side, Winbak Farm will feature three yearlings from the first crop of Wearinmysixshooter, a son of Captaintreacherous. These yearlings—Hips #975, #980, and #996—will sell Thursday (Nov. 6) and are among those eligible to the Maryland Sire Stakes and Race Fund.
Wearinmysixshooter hails from a powerhouse maternal family that includes leading stallions Rockin Image, Heston Blue Chip, and Sunfire Blue Chip.
In 2025, the Maryland Sire Stakes Finals reached record levels with divisions racing for $95,000, the highest purses in program history. The Maryland program continues to grow, building on its momentum heading into the 2026 season.
