Mason-Dixon Downs issue might end up on ballot

Columbus, OH — The Evening Sun is reporting that a decision whether to allow horse racing in Freedom Township (PA) might come down to a vote in November.

The conversations over horse racing have come about since local businessman David LeVan announced in January his plans to build Mason-Dixon Downs, a casino with a harness racing track component, about three miles from the Gettysburg National Military Park in rural Freedom Township. LeVan is asking township officials to change zoning that will allow him to build the structure.
