Grove City, OH — The driver-trainer duo of Cameron and Jessica McGown won two of the seven $20,000 Buckeye Stallion Series races for freshman colt pacers Saturday night (July 19) at MGM Northfield Park.
In the second division, McCown took Heerz Corinthian three-wide around the final turn, exploding down the stretch to win by a length in 1:56. It was the first win of the year for the son of Downbytheseaside.

The McCowns wrapped up the night winning the final division with Heersadiamondstud. The Summa Cum Laude gelding went wire-to-wire to win for the first time in his career in 1:55.4.
Sons of Downbytheseaside also scored in the third and fourth divisions.
In the third Division, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. took 4/5 favorite Cipher to the lead just past the quarter pole and held on down the stretch to beat Thunder Nation by a neck in 1:57. It was the second win in as many starts for the Brian Brown trainee.
In the next division, Odds On Rpj with Aaron Merriman was seventh at the half but made his way through the field, going three-wide around the final turn, winning a three-way photo in 1:55.3. Trained by Virgil Morgan Jr., it was the first start and win for Odds On Rpj.
The fastest BSS time of the night was in the first division, when Catch My Dragon and Trevor Smith covered “The Flying Turns” in 1:55 for trainer Jeff Smith. It was the first win in two starts for the son of Catch The Fire.
The other winners on Saturday night were Barcelona Legend for Chris Lems and Darren Dowler in 1:55.3 and Hunka Hunka for Kurt Sugg and Darren Harvey in 1:56.
Buckeye Stallion Series action continues Monday night (July 21) at MGM Northfield Park with six divisions of two-year-old filly trotters. First race post time is 6:00 p.m.
