Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.
REGULAR FALL SCHEDULE THIS WEEK
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows returns to its regular fall schedule this week, with racing at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.
MINNESOTA TRAINERS RETURN
Several horsemen and women from Minnesota have made their way to The Meadows for the fall and winter, as Brady Jenson, Nick Roland and Alexia Kehl have returned to Pennsylvania. Jenson, who still ranks among the track’s top-10 drivers and top-12 trainers despite not racing here since the spring, returned on Friday as a catch-driver and will be racing horses from his stable soon. Roland and Kehl have raced locally in the past but spent last winter at Cal-Expo. Kehl raced one horse at The Meadows on Friday, and has several in to qualify Tuesday (Oct. 28) with Sean Smithpeters driving.
THURSDAY FEATURE
Thursday’s feature race will be the $18,000 Open Handicap Trot, featuring a field of six. Half of the field won their last start, while two others show a win two starts ago. Adamsville Road (post five), out of the John Ryan Melsheimer Stable, won the local Open two weeks ago, the last time it was carded. Rose Run Zoom, trained by Cory Kreiser, won the Open last week at Northfield and ships in for this week’s Meadows event. Rose Run Zoom has drawn post two.
PRESTO REACHES CENTURY MARK
For the second straight season, trainer Brandon Presto has reached the 100-win plateau at The Meadows. He currently sits second in the trainer standings behind Ron Burke with exactly 100 wins. Presto has won 24.6% of his starts this season with a trainer rating of .370. He is on pace to be close to his 2024 win total of 121.
