THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows resumes its regular four-day/week racing schedule this week. We will race on Wednesday (May 31) and Thursday (Jume 1) at 12:45 p.m., Friday (June 2) evening at 5:10 p.m., and Saturday (June 3) afternoon at 12:45 p.m.
FRESHMEN DEBUT THIS WEEK
The first group of 2-year-old trotters and pacers will make their Meadows debut tomorrow (Tuesday, May 30) in qualifying races. A total of seven qualifying races will be held, with the first four exclusively for freshmen. Post time for the first race will be 11 a.m., and the races will be shown live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page
JUJUBEE RETURNS
Trotting star Jujubee will also make his season debut at The Meadows during Tuesday qualifiers. The now 5-year-old son of Creatine has drawn post seven in the seventh qualifier. Trainer Greg Wright Jr has listed himself to drive. After a stellar three-year-old campaign, Jujubee only raced 7 times in 2022 at age four, winning once, but still earning just under $200,000 for the season.
TOP DRIVERS/TRAINERS FOR THE WEEK
Driver Dave Palone posted six wins in 24 starts (25%) to lead Meadows drivers during the short three-day week ending May 26. Aaron Merriman was 5-17 (29.4%) while Hunter Myers was 5-30. Among trainers, Dirk Simpson had four wins in 12 starts, while Carl Cocciolone recorded three wins for the week in just four starts. Ron Burke’s stable went 3-for-10.
