Washington, PA – this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY ACTION THIS WEEK
Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will is currently in its winter 3-day-per-week schedule, with racing on Wednesday through Friday afternoons at 12:45 p.m. 13 races are carded for this Wednesday (Feb. 18). The $5,000 guaranteed pool on the Late Pick4 is offered daily.
WEDNESDAY FEATURE
Upper-level pacing mares will be featured on Wednesday afternoon, with race seven going as the day’s feature race. A field of nine will face the starter, led by morning line favorite Kele Kele. A former Meadows pacer in past seasons for the Bill Bercury Stable, she made her local return in January, now in the Brady Jenson Stable, where she raced in the top classes at Running Aces in 2025. The 7-year-old daughter of So Surreal was a winner last week in a mid-level pace in 1:53.4, and steps up in class on Wednesday.
TOP TROTTERS FEATURED THURSDAY
A field of six top-level trotters will open the card on Thursday (Feb. 19), in the $18,000 Open Handicap. Big Boy Ernest, a 6-year-old son of International Moni, is looking to defend his title from February 5, when he won in 1:54.4 for his third win of the season from five starts. Justin Irvine will again be in the bike for trainer Norm Parker, leaving from post five.
QUALIFIERS MOVED TO WEDNESDAYS THROUGH FEBRUARY
Qualifying races at The Meadows have been moved to Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m., prior to the parimutuel card which begins at 12:45, through the remainder of February. As always, qualifiers can be watched live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association’s Facebook page, and are archived at youtube.com/themsoa.
