Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.

2-YEAR-OLD QUALIFIERS SET FOR TUESDAY
It was another full entry box for Tuesday’s qualifying races at The Meadows, with 107 freshmen set to go behind the gate starting at 10:30 a.m. A total of 21 qualifying races will be held, with 1-17 for the freshmen, 18-21 for older horses. The Ron Burke Stable leads the way with 27 entered. As always, all qualifiers can be viewed live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association Facebook page, and are archived the next day at www.youtube.com/themsoa.

TOP-PRICED BABIES DEBUT
Some of the higher-priced yearling purchases from last fall to watch on Tuesday at The Meadows include Rose Run Ashlee ($140,000, by Downbytheseaside, Ron Burke Stable), Rose Run Allison ($105,000, by Long Tom, Ron Burke Stable), and Grand Slam Deo ($100,000, by Propulsion, Tim Twaddle Stable). On the other end of the spectrum, Captain Uptown, by Captain Crunch, will be qualifying for the Tom Loughry Stable. He was a $2,400 yearling purchase at Lexington.

POP-UP SERIES COMING SOON
The Meadows’ Race Office is planning to offer a series of Pop-Up events for freshman colts and fillies of both gaits. There will be no starting fee, and legs will go for $10,000 purses with finals of $15,000. Additional details will be released soon.

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE
After last weekend’s changes due to the Belmont Stakes, The Meadows returns to its regular summer schedule for the remainder of the month of June. Racing will take place Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45 p.m., Friday evening at 5:10 p.m. and Saturday at 12:45 p.m., with 13-race cards planned daily.
