Washington, PA – Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo:

12 QUALIFIERS SET FOR TUESDAY

The Meadows will host 12 qualifying races this Tuesday (June 25) morning at 10:30 a.m., including nine races exclusively for 2-year-olds. A total of 55 freshmen will attempt to qualify. All qualifiers can be watched live on the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association Facebook page and will be archived the next day at www.youtube.com/themsoa.

INITIAL 2YO STAKE RACES OF THE SEASON SET FOR SATURDAY

The first 2-year-old stake races of the season will take place this Saturday (June 29) at The Meadows. Freshmen filly trotters will compete in PA Sire Stake and PA Stallion Series action. The draw for Saturday will take place this Wednesday (June 26). Post time for the card is 12:45 p.m.

POP-UP SERIES ACTION

Several of the 2-year-old filly trotters that will compete this Saturday participated in the first leg of a Pop-Up Series this past Saturday. This week, Pop-Up Series will get underway on Thursday (June 27) for 2-year-old filly pacers, and on Friday (June 28) for both 2-year-old colt trotters and 2-year-old colt pacers. A field of eight has been drawn for the filly pace, carded as Race Two on Thursday. Four of the eight fillies are making their first lifetime starts, and all eight are looking for. their first career win.

WILDER SEVEN WINS AWAY FROM MILESTONE

Just a few days removed from his father-in-law Dan Altmeyer getting his 1000th training win since trainer records were kept, Mike Wilder is on the verge of a milestone win. He enters this week just seven wins shy of 9,000. He has six drives slated for Wednesday afternoon.

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE

The Meadows Racing will race Wednesday and Thursday at 12:45 p.m., Friday evening at 5:10 p.m., and Saturday at 12:45 p.m., with 13-race cards planned daily this week.
