Midnight Art (6) was placed the winner after Lady Chelan (1) was disqualified.

Driven by Ron Pierce, Midnight Art carved all the fractions, but was outpaced to the wire by the pocketsitter Lady Chelan. Lady Chelan was disqualified and placed fifth for interfering with Ex Libris Hanover when she angled off the pylons in the stretch. The time of the race was 1:554.

It was two lengths back to Carson Jane ($17.00, $6.60), who finished third and was placed second. Four Starzzz Ittt ($6.80) was fourth placed third.

Tripleplay Hanover, the 7-5 favorite, made a break at the half and scattered the trailers behind her.

Midnight Art earned her first victory in three starts this season and improved her career earnings to $46,735. Brett Pelling trains the four-year-old Artsplace mare for Brittany Farms of Versailles, Kentucky and Marty Granoff’s Val D’Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.
