Millard Jennings, 78, dies

Columbus, OH — Millard Jennings, 78, known to friends as M.J., died Sept. 3, 2018, at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del.

Mr. Jennings began working at the age of 14 as a logger, but his passion for horses took over. He was an avid horseman and began working with horses and horse racing at Holland and Webster horse farm in Elizabeth City, N.C., before moving north to Maryland. He continued his career of training and driving race horses in Maryland for nearly 40 years.

He is survived by his children, Donna, James, Sherri Bundy and Kenny; grandchildren, Eric Harrell, Wray King, Justin, JR Bundy, Matthew, and Alex Bundy; and great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Macy Soria, and Jameson King. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard M. and Axie; siblings, Pearl Temple and Martha; daughter, Cindy Harrell; grandchildren, Dustin Harrell and Aaron King; and great-granddaughter, Riley Soria.

His ashes will be interred at the New Hollywood cemetery in his hometown of Elizabeth City, N.C. Date and time of the service will be announced at a later date.
