Dayton, OH – Brett Miller continued his winning ways at Hollywood Dayton Raceway, winning five races on a card for the second time this week.
Miller got the action started in the second race, piloting 19-1 longshot Pullingthestrings from last at the half to first at the finish in 1:52.4. The very next race he chose a different tactic, by placing 5-2 second-choice PJ Lou on the front and never looking back in 1:49.4. He returned to the winner’s circle again in race seven, this time working out a second-over trip with Bronx Seelster, getting up by a half to win in 1:51.3. In the very next race, Miller was able to enjoy a two-hole trip with Bell’s David and work that into a head victory in 1:52. He made it in three races in a row with the featured Open Handicap.

In the Open, Kayne Kauffman and Lou Hill left alertly and strung out fellow leaver The Bird Dance N in a spirited :26.1. As The Bird Dance N cleared for the lead, Miller moved the also parked-out Surreal Ideal to the front and eventually cleared as the field passed the tote board for the first time.
As he was taking the lead, Joelsyy Hanover was out and moving with a quick brush and eventually applied first-over pressure to the half in :54. The two leaders battled nose to nose down the backside to three-quarters in 1:21.3, with Joelsyy eventually fading in the stretch after that hard first-over trip. The Bird Dance N moved from the pocket to the passing lane to challenge, closing in for a short time before Surreal Ideal powered on again and won by length and half in 1:49.3. The Bird Dance N held for second while a second-over trip allowed Humble A to finish third. The win for Surreal Ideal was his fourth in a row, at three different tracks and all in open company, and his fifth overall this season for the Vernon Beachy trainee.
Brett Miller led all drivers with five victories, Trevor Smith and Jeremy Smith followed with triples, and Chris Page had a double. Trainers Tessa Perrin and Jason Brewer each had two wins.
Racing takes the rest of the weekend off but returns on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
