Million dollar shot to highlight SRF’s golf outing

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will host their 21st annual golf tournament on Tuesday (June 4) at the beautiful and private Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, N.J.

This year’s presenting sponsor once again is the generous Valley High Stable. The big highlight again is the SRF million dollar shot. Last year, Peter Tate won the right to take the shot that could have won him $1 million, but the shot was a bit short and he did not rake in the money.

SRF seeks tax-deductible sponsorships, which are available for the million dollar shot, the $50,000 hole in one and many other great happenings for the day and evening. Sponsorships range from $500-$5,000. Donations of other items for the auction and raffle, such as tickets to sporting events, travel tickets/packages, dinners, memorabilia and other popular items are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible as well.

Sponsors and donors of gifts will see their names on our golf bidding webpage (www.Adoptahorse.org) starting May 20.

If you can’t join us for the day then don’t miss out on this great opportunity by participating in the bidding through SRF’s website. Past items included a UFO sulky, a Pennsbury jog cart, Elite harness racing wheels, Harvey Gear, Bow River Jewelry, Giants tickets, services from many well known veterinarians, training fees, boarding at training facilities, layups at farms and rehabilitative centers, gift cards, artwork and many other exciting items.

Greens fees, cart, lunch, hors d’oeuvres and cocktail hour, dinner, charity auction, trivia and all the fun is only $215 per player if paid before May 29. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. We welcome non-golfers to join us for cocktails, dinner, and the evening events at $59 per person.

All proceeds benefit SRF, the oldest, most productive, award-winning program of its kind dedicated only to non-competitive Standardbreds. SRF requires semi-annual follow-up by licensed veterinarians for the life of each adopted horse. Unique in its work, SRF is providing care for more than 170 Standardbreds. This fund raising event assists in the cost of boarding, feeding, training, farrier, veterinary and dental care, vaccinations and managerial oversight for these horses being boarded at 17 different facilities, as well as oversight for follow-up of the past 2,500 adoptions since 1989.
