Melrose Park, IL — A pair of Mississippi owned 2-year-olds toted home top honors in Thursday night’s (July 1) $7,000 Juxtaposition Stake splits at Maywood Park as the Curtis Rice owned and trained Little Miss Henry captured the first division in a snappy 1:57.2 while the Johnny Rice owned and trained Fox Valley Dublin took the nightcap in 1:58.2.

Casey Leonard and Little Miss Henry romped to a 5-1/4 length victory in the first of two $7,000 Juxtaposition Stake splits on Thursday night at Maywood.

In the opener driver Casey Leonard sent Little Miss Henry right to the top from post position three. In complete control of the proceedings the daughter of Henry Clay-One Sure Thing rattled off splits of :29.1, :59.3 and 1:28.4.

With plenty in reserve the good looking brown filly sprinted home in :28.3 to win by a widening 5-1/4 lengths over the pocket sitting Primrose Path (Trenton Watson). Fox Valley Phoebe (Marcus Miller) finished third.

The win was the first in five starts for Little Miss Henry who also has three second place finishes and one third place finish to her credit.

In the second spilt provisional driver Terry Skinner and Fox Valley Dublin came away in third as Run Tell Dat (Mike Cox) rolled through opening fractions of :30.4 and 1:01.3.

Driver Terry Skinner piloted Fox Valley Dublin to her fourth win in six career starts as they captured the second division of the Juxtaposition Stake.

After watching a hard charging Tuff Rose (Brian Carpenter) sweep into command just after the half-mile mark, Skinner moved his charge to the outside. Cruising up first over the daughter of Incredible Finale-Duncan’s Sister blew right by Tuff Rose as the field moved by the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:30.

Fox Valley Dublin then peeled off a :28.2 final quarter, keeping Red Hot N Sassy (Jamaica Patton) at bay through the stretch, to win by a half-length. Tuff Rose was third, 4-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

With the win Fox Valley Dublin now boasts an impressive record of four victories, one second and one third in her six career starts.
