More honors for Joviality S

Paris — Courant Stable’s Joviality S has picked up another honor.

Joviality S has been named not only the 4-year-old female trotter of the year but also the Mare of the Year in Sweden.

In the United States, Joviality S was named a divisional Dan Patch Award winner in both her 2- and 3-year-old seasons. No other trotter has accomplished this on both side of the pond that before.

Now 5, Joviality S is ready for more racing glory. Sabine Kagebrant, who took over Joviality S’s training when she came back to Europe, has entered her in the Prix de France, to be raced at Vincennes Sunday afternoon (Feb. 11). Benjamin Rochard, a promising young French driver, will be in the bike behind the mare, who will have to race from post position nine, the outside post at Vincennes.

Joviality S will face a field of 17 trotters, among them Prix d’Amérique winner Idao de Tillard.

The Prix de France is raced over 2,100 meters (1-5/16 miles) at Vincennes and has a total purse of €400,000.
