Berlin, MD — On a damp Monday (July 30) night, Ocean Downs hosted two Maryland Standardbred splits each for freshman colt and gelding pacers and filly trotters.

The first race was the first division for filly trotters. Gittin All Sexy (Googoo Gaagaa) with Russell Foster in the bike controlled every quarter in the 2:03.4 mile, finishing 2-3/4 lengths ahead of Tiny Tiara (Lockkeeper). Richard Hans owns, trains and bred the winner.

A division of colt and gelding pacers hit the track for the second race. Reinsman Corey Callahan kept Roar Of Approval tucked in third until the backside, pulling and circling the field to win by seven lengths, stopping the timer in 1:58.3. It took a photo to determine place and show with Where’s Barry (Rusty’s For Real) getting the place call over Jet Bags Jim (Roddy’s Bags Again). Eddie Dennis trains the winner for owner Eric Good, Fred Hertrich III is the breeder.

Filly trotters returned to the track for race three. Pat’s A Keeper (Lockkeeper) with Jared Moyer between the wheels came from fourth at the half to catch the leader Donna’s Hall (Andover Hall) in the last few strides. Time for the mile was 2:04. Arlene Cameron trains for owner-breeder Pam Wagner.

Moyer and Cameron paired up to get their second stakes win of the night in race five, the second split for colt and gelding pacers. Once again Moyer tucked in forth with Sonny’s Blessing and let Rockin The Shades (Cam’s Rocket) cut the first half. When the pair pulled at the half, Sonny’s Blessing flew by the field to take the lead at the three-quarter pole, tripping the timer in 1:59 for the mile, two lengths ahead of Rockin The Shades. Owners of the winner are Linda Condon, Kevin Freeman and Pam Wagner. Linda Condon is the breeder.
