Muscle Dynasty repeats in Dover Open

Dover, DE — Muscle Dynasty made it back to back wins in the Open Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 28). The win lowered his lifetime best for the second consecutive week.

Embrace The Grind sounded the alarm and stormed to the front early as Northern Express landed in the pocket. Highland Mowgli left from the outside and found a spot in the third position. Embrace The Grind set the tempo with a sizzling :27 opening quarter. He passed the half in a relaxing :55.4.

The 6-5 betting favorite, Muscle Dynasty motored from fourth past the half and charged first over down the backstretch. Embrace The Grind and Muscle Dynasty were on even terms and passed the three-quarters in 1:24.1.

Muscle Dynasty cleared for the lead at the top of the stretch. Embrace The Grind weakened and that allowed Northern Express to maneuver off the pylons. Northern Express attacked late in the lane, but failed.

Muscle Dynasty flexed his muscles and won by three-quarters of a length in 1:53. He was able to lower his previous mark of 1:53.2 set last week and paid $4.40. Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) is owned by Frank Chick. Shea Lare trains and Corey Callahan drove.

Northern Express finished second for trainer Arty Foster Jr. Russell Foster drove. Longshot Fifty Ways finished third for trainer Joe Columbo. Pat Berry drove.

Tony Morgan drove three winners on the card. He has collected nine driving wins in two days at Bally’s Dover. Tim Crissman had a training triple.

Racing resumes on Wednesday at Bally’s Dover. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
