Northfield, OH — This year’s presidential election was predicted by nearly every pollster on the planet, however the Election Night Series champion was a 25-1 longshot. Muscular Superstar shocked his rivals with a gate-to-wire victory, capturing the $18,000 Election Night Series final on Tuesday (Nov. 17) at MGM Northfield Park.

The 4-year-old trotter is owned by Twoforone Stable. His conditioner Lonnie Graber listed Hunter Myers for the winning drive.

Muscular Superstar (Muscular-Garland Superstar) started the race from post three and led at every call through fractions of :27.4, :58, 1:26.4 and 1:56.4. He was two lengths in front at the wire. Finishing behind the winner (in order after placings) were Blazintothefront (Aaron Merriman), Soho Begonia (Kurt Sugg), Smoking Jet, Dont Front Me, Turbochargedpete, Big Box Hanover, Father Time and Gabby’s Wild Child.

Muscular Superstar now has three wins in 16 starts this year. Tuesday’s victory bolstered his career bankroll to $31,660. He returned $52.20 to win.
