My Ruebe Star N reaches at Yonkers; Pick-6 carries over

Yonkers, NY — Thursday night’s (Jan. 28) featured $30,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace at Yonkers Raceway was won by a returning My Ruebe Star N (Jordan Stratton) in 1:57.

My Ruebe Star N had just one qualifier since capturing her last start of 2020 on Oct. 8, but the layoff proved no problem, as she worked out a pocket trip behind Marloe Hanover (Andrew McCarthy) through fractions of :27.4, :58.1, and 1:27.1. Stratton then found a seam on the inside in the lane, and My Ruebe Star N had pace to go with the space, downing a game Alexa Skye (Todd McCarthy), who was parked every step from post eight and saw her five-race win streak end, as she came up a head short. Marloe Hanover saved third.

Shane Tritton trains My Ruebe Star N, a 7-year-old Falcon Seelster mare, for owner Team Tritton Inc. This was her 18th career victory, and she has now earned $154,324. As the 7-2 second choice, My Ruebe Star N paid $9.20 to win. The exacta returned $33.60, and the trifecta kicked back $169.50.

Pick-6 carries over again

Yonkers Raceway’s one-dollar Pick-6 proved elusive once again on Thursday night, as having five out of six winners was the best result anyone playing the wager could manage. That means Friday night’s (Jan. 29) sequence will have a $6,783.81 carryover and a $10,000 guaranteed pool.

The guarantee is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick-6, courtesy of TrackMaster, are available here.

Yonkers Raceway’s Pick-6 has a takeout rate of 20 percent, as do the track’s nightly Pick-4 and Pick-5 wagers.

Friday night’s 10-race program at Yonkers starts at 7:15 p.m., with the Pick-6 kicking off in the third race.
