Kew Gardens, NY — The North American Amateur Driver’s Association (NAADA), who have been long-time supporters of the American Harness Racing Secretaries, Inc. (AHRS), will again be making a $1,000 donation to the AHRS annual meeting scheduled for Dec. 5 through Dec. 7 in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
“It is important to acknowledge the work of all our race secretaries who support amateur racing, especially at those tracks where NAADA races are conducted as well as where all other amateur clubs are welcome,” said NAADA President Joe Faraldo. “Amateur racing has come a long way since it was started back in the day as the Billings traveling show for stakes and NAADA for local overnights.”
Much work at this meeting involves the scheduling of stakes races with the ultimate goal of conflict avoidance, no easy task with the abundance of good quality stakes races across the nation.
In addition, the AHRS members engage in networking round-table discussions.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the AHRS.
