Columbus, OH — Longtime horse racing industry veteran Commissioner Doug Moore of the Washington State Horse Racing Commission is the new Chair of the Association of Racing Commissioners International (ARCI).

Moore started in the business at age 13 riding exhibition races at county fairs before becoming a professional jockey for 16 years. He worked in the racing office as assistant racing secretary, then racing secretary, before joining the staff of the Washington Horse Racing Commission in 1996.

At the commission Moore worked in virtually every position, ultimately becoming a Steward, Assistant Executive Director, and Executive Director before being appointed to the Commission by Washington Governor Jay Inslee.
