“New” Communicators Hall of Fame exhibit debuts Saturday

Harrisburg, PA — The United States Harness Writers Association will celebrate the opening of the new, interactive Communicators Hall of Fame kiosk, inside the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame at Goshen, N.Y., on Saturday (July 6) with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.

“The most collaborative and expansive exhibit update this year has been the Communicators Hall of Fame,” noted Museum Director Janet Terhune. “In association with a committed group of members from the United States Harness Writers Association, the Museum has designed and implemented a new look and digital framework to celebrate the accomplishments of those elected to the Communicators Hall of Fame. This effort is likely to lead the way in other digital installations and updates that will renew and refresh the Museum’s overall presentation.”

“We are so thrilled and thankful to the Museum for housing the members of the Communicators Hall of Fame as we move into the future via this new display,” Michael Carter, USHWA President, announced. “Our recognized Hall of Fame members — which includes writers, publicists, and other top communicators within the harness racing industry — deserve to have first-rate recognition, and this modern kiosk does just that.”

With space limited within the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, the decision was made to showcase the CHOF members in an upgraded, modern format. The CHOF kiosk will allow visitors to search for a member alphabetically and will present the CHOF member’s biography and pertinent information in a digital format, along with accompanying photographs.

An informal, light brunch will be served following the ceremony, which is free and open to the public.
