New owners seminar at Running Aces on June 6

Columbus, OH — A new owners seminar has been scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, Minn. Aimed at newcomers to the sport of harness racing, this night at the races will cover topics on horse ownership and getting involved with Standardbreds. The seminar is co-sponsored by the USTA, Running Aces Harness Park and Hanover Shoe Farms.

The schedule for the seminar is:
4:00–4:15 p.m. — Running Aces Welcome
4:15–4:45 p.m. — Introduction to Harness Racing and the USTA
4:45–5:30 p.m. — Taking the Plunge into Horse Ownership: Costs and Responsibilities (and Rewards!)
5:30–6:30 p.m. — The Difference Between Buying (and Racing) Racehorses and Yearlings
6:50–8:00 p.m. — Racing Program Basics & Handicapping, followed by an Evening at the Races

The cost of the seminar is $30/person or $50/couple, which also includes a night at the races package (including dinner in the clubhouse, program, betting voucher, door prizes and the opportunity to participate in a winner’s circle presentation).
