Columbus, OH — The entry deadline for the USTA Roadster Classic, with an estimated “purse” of $15,000, is June 1.
Last year the class was won by Debbie Foley and Trio Bolero G, a 1999 Germany born foal of Onassis, a grandson of Nevele Pride, out of a Lindy’s Crown mare. Trio Bolero G took a mark of 2:00.3 at Scioto Downs as a 7-year-old and earned $41,255 on the track, both on foreign soil and domestically.
The USTA Roadster Classic will be held on August 27 at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville. It is a strictly Standardbred class and open only to horses that have not been shown prior to August 26, 2008. All horses must be registered with the USTA or Standardbred Canada and a copy of the papers must accompany your entry, in the owner’s name. The owners must be members of the American Roadhorse & Pony Association and the USTA or SC. Tattoos and freeze brands will be checked before entering the ring.
The $50 nomination fee must be postmarked by June 1, 2009 and sent to: ARHPA, Attn: Pat, 177 E. 2nd St., Maysville, KY 41056.
