Hightstown, NJ — Nijinsky, who won this past Friday’s Monument Circle Stakes at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, was the only horse in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Top 10 — and one of only three horses receiving points in the entire poll — in action last week. Subsequently, the Week 21 rankings released Tuesday were unchanged.
Twin B Joe Fresh remained No. 1 for the 17th consecutive week, followed by Jiggy Jog S, Maryland, Chantilly, and Sig Sauer to complete the top five. Captain Albano, Nijinsky, Winner’s Bet, My Girl EJ, and Karl rounded out the Top 10.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will be released every Tuesday through the remainder of the Grand Circuit season, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
