No live racing on Friday at Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — Meadowlands Racetrack will be dark Friday, August 14, due to the pre-season football game at Giants Stadium.

Racing resumes Saturday, August 15, with an 11-race card featuring the elimination for the $250,000 Breeders Crown Mares Trot. Plus, Breeders Crown Open Pace and Mare Pace finalists, including Mister Big and Darlin’s Delight, will battle in a pair of open events. Post time is 7 p.m.

The $1.6 million Breeders Crown Championships for older horses, along with the $400,000 Woodrow Wilson and $350,000 Sweetheart, headline closing night of the 2009 harness meet on Saturday, August 22.

The August 22 festivities also include a Brian Sears bobblehead giveaway (first 4,500 paid admissions), driver autograph session, live music by Ramblin Dawgs, and an appearance by the Jagermeister Ladies.
