Grove City, OH – Freshman filly pacers open their 2025 Buckeye Stallion Series schedule with the first leg on Monday (July 14) at MGM Northfield Park.
Monday’s card at Northfield features five $20,000 divisions of the BSS with 41 total starters.
A pair of Virgil Morgan Jr. trainees — Odds On Catherine and Jamie Amanda — enter as morning line favorites in their respective divisions.
Odds On Catherine (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) is the early 4-1 favorite in the fourth division and will leave from post three alongside 9-2 co-second-choice Billboard Model (Kayne Kauffman) in post two. The Downbytheseaside filly finished sixth in her lone purse start of 2025. She won a qualifier at Eldorado Scioto Downs in 1:56.3 on June 23 and is owned by Odds On Racing. This division also features Its Nacho Turn (Austin Hanners), who has 9-2 odds and is 3-for-3 this season with a lifetime best of 1:56.2.
Jamie Amanda (Brett Miller) enters as the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the fifth division. Another filly by Downbytheseaside, she is 1-for-1 in 2025 after posting a victory at Scioto in 1:56 on July 4 with Miller in the sulky. She is owned by Let It Ride Stables, Odds On Racing, and Morgan Jr. At 4-1, Gochujang (Wrenn Jr.) is the second choice in this division.
In the first division, Mandaloun (Chris Page) is the 5-2 morning line favorite ahead of 3-1 second-choice Eyes Up (Dan Noble). Mandaloun has not started a purse race this season. The Ron Burke trainee won a qualifier at The Meadows in 1:55.1 on July 8. The Downbytheseaside filly is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, and RAS Racing.
Fire Country (Tyler Smith) has one win in two starts this season and is the early 9-5 favorite in the second division. Smith drove the Logan Rowe trainee to victory in 1:54.3 at Scioto on June 27. The Catch The Fire filly is owned by Matt Rowe. Odds On Panspermia (Page) is the 4-1 second choice in this division.
The third division features 3-1 morning-line favorite Summa Deeva (Carson Conrad) and 7-2 second-choice Skimming The Sand (Miller). Summa Deeva has hit the board in all three starts this season with two wins and one third, all with Conrad in the sulky. The Steve Carter trainee won at Circleville in 2:04.3 on June 14 and posted a victory at Ottawa in 2:06 on June 24. The Summa Cum Laude filly is owned by Willard Taylor III and Carter. Also in this division is Katie’s On Fire (Hanners), who has 20-1 odds but has hit the board in all three seasonal starts with one win.
Monday’s Buckeye Stallion Series races at MGM Northfield Park are part of a 16-race card that begins at 6 p.m.
