Northville to honor Tioga horses, horsemen and women on Nov. 11

Northville, MI — On Saturday (Nov. 11), Northville Downs will be honoring the horses lost and the horsemen and women who lost everything in the tragic barn fire Thursday at Tioga Downs.

Horsemen and women at Northville Downs have the option of dressing their horses in red throughout the Saturday program.

“The color red represents love and it only seemed appropriate for us to send our love and support to our friends at Tioga Downs, with whom many of our local horsepeople have deep connections with. It is a horrid tragedy and no one should ever have to endure such pain and loss,” said track announcer Ken Terpenning.

In addition to the ‘red out’ night, a moment of silence will take place following race four.

To donate, a gofundme can be found here.

Northville Downs races every Friday and Saturday night from now through Nov. 25 with a 7 p.m. first race post time each night. Friday night is dollar night featuring $1 live programs, pop and popcorn, $2 hot dogs and beer and hamburger and cheeseburger specials.

For live racing dining reservations, call Northville Downs in advance at 248.924.2073.
