NVSA adds Marty Allen, DVM to Board

Las Vegas, NV — The Nevada Standardbred Association Inc. has added Marty Allen, DVM to their Board of Directors.

“Magic Marty,” as he is known in the industry, was raised in the Standardbred racing industry and understands the rigors and stresses of horses in extreme sports. He graduated from Colorado State University Veterinarian School (1994), and earned a master’s degree at the University of Illinois in 2001, where he performed his surgery residency and later was Associate Professor.

The addition of Marty increases the number of Board members and expands its capabilities. Board Members of the NVSA have fiduciary responsibilities and are responsible for advancing the mission of the organization. The NVSA is thrilled to have his expertise and welcomes his deep knowledge of Standardbred horse care.

The NVSA, a Nevada not-for-profit corporation formed in November 2018, promotes and supports harness racing and Standardbred breeding and development programs in Nevada. The NVSA assists racetrack start-ups and represents members in negotiations, recommends rule changes and regulations and cooperates with other Standardbred associations, and also consults with higher education to increase equine care, training and awareness within the state.
