Oak Grove, KY — Throughout the highly successful Oak Grove Racing and Gaming season, Racing Secretary Kevin Mack and Director of Racing Cara Collins featured many races highlighting the United States Harness Drivers (USHDC), enabling the Club to make numerous donations benefitting worthy charitable recipients in surrounding communities.
Now that the Oak Grove season is history, the USHDC continues their quest in helping and supporting many charitable organizations beneficial in the welfare of standardbred horses and those children, man and women that benefit from their on-going therapy session.
The latest USHDC donations announced are to Bit-by-Bit Medical Therapeutic Riding Center, Tomorrow’s Rainbow, Inc. Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center and Rockin’ T Ranch.
In announcing the donations, Treasure Tom Eichas lamented, “These were four great charitable organizations that were on our benefactors list while we were competing at Pompano Park, so it was decided that they should not be forgotten since that track closed.”
Bit-by-Bit Medical Therapeutic Riding Center offers enhancement of lives through equine Assisted Therapies, including Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding, along with a Special Veterans Program.
The results have proven to be significant as those participants have shown increased strength. Endurance, coordination with those benefits going far beyond in emotional and mental well being.
Tomorrow’s Rainbow offers equine-assisted psychotherapy designed to assist children and their families in the healing process from grief and trauma.
Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center offers Adaptive Riding, Equine Assisted Activities and Hippotherapy with the goals of empowerment through accomplishment and independence, the strengthening of relationships and using the equine to achieve functional goals.
Rockin’ T Equine Sanctuary and Rescue is a facility that gives a safe and secure environment in accepting abused and neglected horses.
USHDC President Dein Spriggs said, “Just because a racing meet ends, the needs for these worthy organizations continue on and our Club, along with others throughout the U.S.A. have to step up and continue to help, as th need for financial assistance continues.
“It’s through the generosity of our Club members to donate 100% of their earnings while driving in our events that we are able to continue our mission.”
The USHDC (formerly the Florida Amateur Driving Club) has been donating to countless, worthwhile charities since 1998.
